Extended Stay America Suites Charleston Mt Pleasant

The place had a musky smell to it and had a bunch of big fan running in the hallway causing a lot of noises. there was no coffee maker in the room, the AC is probably on it's last leg so it made a lot of noise.

There were roaches in room that got into my medical equipment and on personal items in bathroom. pipe burst and was shut off without notification leaving one of us soapy in shower unable to rinse. Blankets, towels, comforters sat on floor 2 days to soak up water. No cold intermittent hot water. Suite with kitchen without dishes- you could get from desk after deposit, stove and hood filthy no light in hood. Staff wore PJs while on duty. Staff also sat in car outside smoking weed at front door and had to ring bell several times to get response. Did not answer calls from room had to walk down for all requests. Extremely unpleasant Staff, hotel and stay. Will not stay in this hotel ever again. BEWARE!!

We have stayed at this same location for the past 8 year's. Clean and some updates to rooms. Anytime we pick a diff. Hotel its allways disappointing! Not this extended stay the manager worked every single day that we were there, she does alot more than run the front and made sure we were comfortable in everyday. Everyone was very kind this stay, we miss Mr. Raymond who worked maintenance for many years before his retirement, he was the greatest person. Now The beds aren't the most comfortable but having a kitchen and enough room to move about that is clean is the reason I will stay here for the next years to come. Allways ckean towels and linen available anytime we needed them ,Very safe parking area the staff also made sure guests had room to park overheard big truck drivers wanting to block off the parking lot and staff told them alternative parking arrangements so that all guests wouldn't be inconvenienced by the truckers. Thoughtful and helpful! We appreciate yall and will be back soon.

Exceptional

Room was very clean, front desk guy was super friendly and the ac was top notch! However there was no soap at all in our room. Highly recommend bringing your own shampoo and conditioner as well as soap. No one is at the front desk overnight, and they had all kinds of construction going on, on the second floor which made it smell really weird. And alot of fans in the walkway.

For a quick night, the bed was extremely comfortable, the room was clean and the kitchen allowed us to keep our travel food cold. I've read reviews about bugs, but we didn't experience any. Located in a great spot with restaurants within walking distance, as well as good streets to run down if you are a runner.

Should change the name to roach motel. Paula at the front desk didn’t care to hear about the roach problem. I’ve pictures and video. There appears to be poo flowing from some part of the wall. Have pictures. I checked out early and Paula indicated that I’m checking out late even though I’ve a rez for another day plus. Paula refused to print a receipt. She is not someone that should be customer facing. Terrible service. The location of this place is great if you’re okay with roaches and terrible front desk service.

Some larger issues that are fixable or at least can be addressed: -The bathroom of the room I was in had dark blotches near the drain of the tub. No idea what it is. -There is no breakfast available. Again, this may not be the case in general but it was while I was there for 3 days, 2 nights...no breakfast any of the mornings I was there. -The front desk attendant didn't know the WiFi, I had to show him how to access it and then show the other two hotel guests who were in line how to use it, as well. -The WiFi is not clear on if it's free or if it costs money. The directions are not clear and you may end up paying for WiFi if you are not careful.

Water pressure in the shower was pretty awful whenever we attempted to put hot water the knob would shake vigorously and water pressure was beyond minimal staff was nice to give us a new room as the one that was given to us at the start was still being cleaned

The AC in the lobby and halls were malfunctioning . I also woke up with a tick on my leg !

Checking was great after that it all went down hill. Door open to room when we arrived dirty kitchen, bathroom and room in general. Would have left if we didn’t get in so late. O one even showered there because of the condition of the shower. Toilet almost overflowed, had to shut the water off myself and no response from maintenance after calling and alerting them to the issue. Management attempted to come in the room at 6:00am because it was not supposed to be rented as it was already rented to someone else.

Rooms were very dated. There were no amenities in the room- no cups or plates, no coffee maker. The cooktop didn’t work. There is no ice machine to fill a cooler or even get ice for the room.

I had a cockroach in my room the German cockroach which are the common. The floors were sticky and the room smelled awful.

As a young woman who frequently travels alone for work, safety and reliability are extremely important when choosing accommodations. One of the main reasons I booked this hotel was because it advertised late check-in availability, as I wasn't arriving until after 10 PM. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I was informed that the hotel was overbooked and that there was no room available for me despite having a confirmed reservation through Expedia. The employee at the front desk was rude, dismissive, and offered no apology or assistance in finding an alternative solution. Being turned away at 10 PM in an unfamiliar area with nowhere to stay was both stressful and unacceptable. To make matters worse, I still have not received a refund for the reservation. The hotel itself may have been perfectly fine, but the way this situation was handled left a very negative impression. A simple apology, some empathy, or assistance in finding alternative accommodations could have made a significant difference. Based on this experience, I would not choose to stay here again, and I am also hesitant to use Expedia in the future.

Bad

The room wasnt nice and clean the hallways were very clean everything was convenient I enjoyed our stay didnt try their breakfast and Gloria was so nice excellent in assisting our stay Well be charged 180.00 just for one night the first night were not that much thar wasn't fair reservation on line charged to much

The bathroom and room were both very filthy I couldn't use the shower. The air conditioning was poor and the TV did not work.

Close proximity to Charleston, very nice, quiet area, close to the Patriots park to view sunsets.
