Great breakfast and service
-
Room was clean and very quiet and comfortable! The staff were all friendly and so helpful! Centrally located to all of the things we were interested in seeing!

The headboard had grime across it, bathroom had a lot of dust in the vents, and the lobby had a quite unpleasant smell. The bed was pretty average and would benefit from extra pillows. We also got double-charged for parking (the fact that they charge $5 for parking in a large lot away from any attractions is a little insulting, but we did know that going in). We were able to get the incorrect charge corrected quickly at the front desk, but be sure to double to check before leaving. It's also quite annoying that WiFi access ends as soon as you checkout, so plan accordingly. It's that kind of pointless cost-cutting that so unnecessarily can hurt loyalty. Overall, it's a fine stay. Not quite a premium Hilton and one that has seen better days. But the staff is friendly, the amenities are quite good, and the location is convenient. If they do a refurb, it could be an excellent stay.

That being said, I will say throughout all of my Hilton stays--these were the roughest feeling linens I've ever noticed. Usually, a Hilton is luxury--not the case here. BUT all else was top notch as usual. From now on--I'll take my own linens to cover where I sleep and make sure I'm not affected again, no matter the hotel brand--which, if a choice--is Hilton.

We enjoy staying here each time we come to Charleston. Clean, quiet, and very friendly staff. I don’t recall his name, perhaps Jermaine? But he’s the evening desk clerk and is always friendly and helpful.

If Hilton Garden doesn't offer free breakfast, it was their location to the bridge to get to local sites. The reviews I look at did raise concerns about comfort and rude staff, but it was not a major concern.

The pool could have been deeper.

Clean place Check in staff was not friendly. It is very disappointing to charge for breakfast for less than quality of a “holiday inn” type breakfast where at HOLIDAY INN is free.

Great stay

I liked the breakfast, however, I didn't think I'd be charged for it. I could have sworn that free breakfast was included when I booked the room. The guy running the breakfast was really nice and accommodating! However, the rest of the staff was not very friendly and not very accommodating! We got to the hotel at about 11 am to check in and was told that we have no rooms available yet and that check in time was at 3:00. I did know that 3:00 was check in time but was told over the phone a few days prior that we could probably get checked in around noon or a little bit afterwards as soon as there was a room available. Anyway, I was okay that we could not check in yet so we waited in the lobby. At noon I went back up to the desk and asked the girl if a room was ready yet and she said no. So we waited another hour and around 1:10 she came up to us and said, "wait you still haven't checked in yet?" I said no we were waiting for you to come over to us and tell us that a room was ready. So she apologized and checked us in. Even though she apologized it was a bit annoying that she forgot about us and then kind of acted like it wasn't her fault. That was not a good start to our stay. Next, we were told we'd get maid service every other day, which was okay, but we never got any service the 4 days we were there. Granted our do not disturb sign was on our door, but we were never asked by the maid if we wanted our room clean even when asked for some fresh towels, in which she gave me one towel. Speaking of towels, the pool didn't have any towels available on Friday for many hours. All in all, it wasn't a bad stay, but it definitely wasn't a good one! see up top

This was an EXCELLENT property, we had a group staying and they were so welcoming. We got to hang out in the lobby and treat it like our living room. The entire staff treated us so well!!!

Best Garden Inn I've seen. Big beautiful lobby and bar area.
-
The staff was great, but the hotel is old and falling apart. Only one elevator was in service, only one dryer was working, and the fitness center was filthy.

This was a road trip home, stopping at several Hilton properties along the way. This one was by far the best.
