Best Western Plus Newport News Inn & Suites

The breakfast was terrible. The first morning there weren't enough plates and utensils. There was NO fruit at all and this wasn't late in the morning. No pancake mix, a few pieces of bread, no bagels and there was no restocking of the hot bar. They had fruit the next day, but it was not restocked the day after. The juice machine tasted like water. Our room was not cleaned the entire weekend. I saw people putting trash bags outside of their rooms for pick up. This was my last stay at Best Western and due to the lack of assistance/follow up from Expedia, this was my last time using Expedia.

The staff were kind and helpful. The property is not well maintained. The pool was green and closed during our stay. The ice machine was broken and all vending machines were not filled. I got water from the water filling station at breakfast and there were pieces of mold or dirt in the water. Even though breakfast was offered, we ended up going elsewhere. There was broken glass all over the parking lot. You definitely get what you pay for. We would not stay at this location again.

Property wast terrible

Worn out and in drastic need of a remodeling. Nice, helpful staff. The fire alarm went off at 1:30am but that wasn't their fault. I think someone pulled the alarm.

Our room smelled like mildew and the floor in the bathroom became wet...no one had used the shower or anything and our floor was wet.

TV in room did not work. A/C barely cooling and pool water was dirty and green. Breakfast was decent.

Pleasantly surprised when they put us in a room with a hideabed and 2 queen beds. Made for a happy couple of older kids

Arrived and checked in. Was given a room that hadn't been cleaned at all. Trash everywhere, beds pulled apart, dirty towels on the floor. Went back to the front desk and was given a new room. After a few hours I was in bed and my room door was opened and the employee came in my room. Did not knock just enter my room. I had to go to the front desk and ask why that happened. He said that I wasnt suppose to be in that room and I should have already checked out!! Then he proceeded to let me leave the front desk and go back to my room and I couldn't even get into my room. He had deactivated my room keys. Back to the front desk again to ask why? He had to give me new keys. I have never in my life had anything like this happen. I checked in after 3:30pm and he entered my room around 7:30p. I just cant explain hiw unsafe I felt after that. Especially traveling just me and my daughter!

Friendly staff, comfortable beds, good linens, good breakfast, convenient location, ample parking

Room layout was odd -- sink was in a weird location. Stains on carpet (vomit!) not properly cleaned. Bathroom fan was very loud. Location was good if flying out of PHF. Breakfast was ok.

Bathroom toilet was turned off due to water would not shut off when filling up. I fixed that shower would leak from back corner of tub when used people getting high everywhere in and out of a smokeless hotel went to the extent where I took my kids back in from the pool due to someone rolling one and smoking with kids in the pool. Pulled the sofa bed out to find pee stains in multiple sheets went to the front desk to get new sheets cleaned the mattress myself.

I chose to stay at a hotel on my road trip so I can be well rested. The loud startling alarm in the middle of the night was counterproductive to staying at the hotel.

My mattress was used often to the point it was no longer firm and hurt my back. The staff was friendly though. The ice machines were not running. It was clear that there was a strong scent of marijuana throughout the third floor and I was appalled that some guests were entering the property after 10pm holding children that were passed out and reeking of the smell of marijuana. I pray they were t hot boxing the kids to put them to sleep. The location was just ok but for what Onoaid I could have stayed at Yorktown beach or Virginia Beach even. I’d shop around a little more before I selected this property again.

The fitness center was poor even for a hotel one. The treadmill was out of order and very old. They didn't have any weights just one machine for seated rows. The room came with a fold out bed but the staff told me he couldn't get it sheets since laundry was closed. That honestly made us upset since we got the room for that bed and had to suck it up so our kids could get a sheet. Recommend having extra sheets and pillows for the foldout bed to prevent anyone from needing to ask for extra linens.

A good place to stay on a budget. Staff us friendly and helpful.

The ice machine was broken, the soda machine was empty, and the bed was sunken in and uncomfortable.

When i was checking in the hotel the lobby smell very fresh and it look remodeled, the rooms it smell old the couch had an big old stain on it look so disgusting…

Room was nice and tidy, and the hotel is in a convenient location.

Great location, breakfast was good and staff was friendly I wish they had a washer and dryer.
