Comfort Inn Newport News - Hampton I-64

Have stayed many times, never a disappointment. Hotels clean well kept, close to a lot of places with easy access to the interstate.

We were upset when we first arrived to the hotel because there was such a large crowd of people hanging in the lobby and the front entrance, and the front desk staff seemed dismissive. We were worried about the noise and our safety. It turns out that there was a family reunion going on at the hotel. We decided to stay, and it turned out to be a good decision. The crowd eventually dissipated, and we warmed up to the staff. The room wasn't fancy, but it was clean and comfortable. We would stay there again.

The Reception staff was very nice and polite, the breakfast is terrible, there was greasy scrambled eggs, but no potatoes. The coffee was the worst coffee I have ever had. I had booked the hotel from the 5th till the 12th. of June. on 11 I was informed that my booking was only upto 11th. I had checked the costs and dates before submitting the booking in Expedia. How that booking got changed is beyond me. Whether it was because the Expedia system or I suspect it was the hotel's booking system, which fraudulently changed the daily rate and provided me with the same amount but one less day, as the one which booked. Avoid this hotel at all cost

The Hotel was next to the mall and this had a ton of dining and walking and shopping options. walking distance to the door of the hotel. The environment was calm and relaxed-coffee machine and water in lobby was also good. The hotel had a very musty moldy smell- I was surprised because it had high ratings. The staff were not rude but not overly friendly. The pool closed early and opened late so no night swimming outside of our scheduled time there. Breakfast was not great, I saw the waffle maker and thought it would be more options but that was the only thing they had aside from some muffins and bagels nothing looked very good either way. It looked like a mouse had eaten through the blankets on our bed- and the appliances were all rusty and damaged looking

“The armchair in the room turned out to be broken. The breakfast was quite decent, and the staff were polite.

Most of staff were excellent. One of our party has Celiac disease. Several days the Kitchen staff didn’t know what it is was and didn’t offer to check packaging to even see if sausage was gluten free. They only had an apple she could eat for breakfast. Included above.

It wasn't clean. The AC was so so. Eventhough the hotel is smoke free it smells weed everywhere. Breakfast wasn't good either.

Did not like that, the Back Door would not completely closed. When you shut it Basically, that was it.

Breakfast was fine........normal............coffee available 24/7...........good parking.............. Checking in the desk person was sort of rude, short with an attitude...........not sure what the problem was
