The AC in the main entrance was not working for 5 of the 6 days we were there, which was not an issue personally, but is an indication of the maintenance of the facility. Lastly, the toilet seat was so loose it was unusable. I tightened it myself and did not ask for maintenance. Won't stay there again.

The newly renovated building is awesome and the kids love the new basketball court outside. The gas fire pit was lite when we returned from dinner at the Mall across the street from shopping. Our family sat around the fire pit outside and enjoyed the hotel with pure relaxation. Some family enjoyed the inside clean pool & I chose the fire pit and a nice glass of wine. We opt for the first floor and we did not hear anything as far as noise so I will always stay on the first floor. Thank you Residence Inn for making my visit a very easy & happy visit to Virginia for my nephews graduation at ODU. The trip was well worth it coming from Dallas, NC!

Room was clean! Gym had weights, a strength machine, two treadmills, one elliptical, and one stationary bike which were in good condition. The pool was warm and clean. It was better than the photos! Staff was super kind from the very accommodating breakfast folks, wifi maintenance, and front desk folks!

- HVAC was not working in the common areas and not working properly in the rooms. - There was a bag of spilled food in our hallway for over 24 hours. Then after the bag was picked up, the actual food was still there for another day. - We had water stains on a comforter, dishes weren’t clean, and the bathroom cabinet was crooked. - I also had an issue with our bill after we checked out. Hotels.com advertises this property with “free self parking” but when I got the bill they charged us for $5.00/day for parking. Which I find funny because it’s not a high traffic location. Just seems like a small way to nickel and dime you. To their credit, they adjusted the bill after I called to raise my concern. However, we had positive interactions with the staff during our stay. The issues with this property seem to be management/ownership driven.

Staff was courteous and accommodating. Rooms were spacious. Things appeared clean. Our mattress was not good, felt well worn and lumpy. It had a mattress cover with padding but that didn’t help. Our tv volume was very low, no matter how high we turned it up.
