Good Location, historic centre of Oaxaca, next door to Textile museum, walking distance of Zocalo, museums, restaurants, market, etc. Staff did their best to accommodate our needs. Stored our luggage for the day before we left. Tried to help give instructions. A lovely interior, through main entrance of hotel, quiet garden patio, often dark. I would not rate comfort 8.6!!! facilities 8.1!! staff 9.1!!! Given the location of main floor room, noisy feeling unsafe, small bathroom with no surface space at all. After much correspondence with Hotel Dainzu staff before we arrived, they offered us and we accepted 2 rooms together on the second floor. This was not honoured upon arrival. We were told rooms unavailable. A big disappointment, The first assigned room-was on The second floor-thankful staff carried luggage upstairs, very hard mattress, no extra blanket given when requested. The second assigned room, was the disappointment, because it was on first floor, room 107-do not recommend. Staying as a single older person did not feel safe. The small room was located right inside the doors of the lobby, close to the street, as people-guests, staff walked by room heard movement & voices-staff early morning hours, evening radio from lobby, short inside curtain covered the window facing courtyard,no extra security locks on door-ie dead bolt, chain across door given closeness to lobby. It was frustrating for us that we unfortunately didn’t speak enough Spanish & grateful a little English was spoken by Staff. But we had great difficulty explaining our disappointment about the rooms. A staff was able to access my previous correspondence on their computer as I stood at the counter. Apologies were given. Nothing could be done.

It's just fine. Very typical Oaxaca hotel. Nothing bad, also nothing special.
-
no breakfast at this location ,but very nice ,as close to downtown as you can get , nice restaurants close by. the price from booking was higher than the actual hotel price like 20 dollars a night more , so this time there was no deal from booking.com

Location Very small room and not parking space at the hotel
-
Gorgeous common areas, exceptional staff, great location to restaurants and the center. Complimentary cookie and coffee was nice. Someone to help me carry my luggage to my room upstairs would have been helpful.

I wish the windows would have been closed because you can see to the outside and vice versa. Also wish they have more than a fan since it got very hot during the day. We had to have all the lights off to not be hot.

1. Location. - Very centrally located and closely surrounded by very good restaurants, cafes, shops and attractions. 2. Quaint, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing building, courtyard and rooms. 3. Very helpful and professional staff. 4. Excellent value. Inexpensive, yet, does not feel like it. 5. On the lobby floor... there is hot and cold water dispenser, a bathroom, a lovely courtyard with chairs and swings. We will absolutely stay again. There is not a single thing I can think of that I didn't like. I only wish we had found this place sooner than we did. We stayed at different places prior to our stay there. We are very pleased with our decision to start at Hotel Dainzu.
