Courtyard by Marriott Osaka Honmachi

All was perfect

Its far away from city center approx 20 mins walking to reach city center

Loved the view from 15th Floor. Staff was very accommodating with helping us in reminding us of Marriot Bonvoy to get an upgrade from 5th Floor to the 15th Floor. Advised us on highway facing rooms having vehicle noises but which wasn't a bother after a million steps a day we slept like a baby. The bed was very comfortable but a bit tiny for 2 Adults and a kid. They even let us keep umbrellas with us on most of our days. Really wish the Breakfast included more options for Muslims as everything had pork and we only opted for 1 day and was very disappointed in paying that price and not able to eat 90% of the food. Even the boiled egg was totally leaky and not edible. Wish the TV had an option to choose Youtube or Netflix but the marriot app blocked everything even though the remote showed the options.

Location of Hotel is good. Right outside metro station exit. Bathroom was good. Not a very warm hotel or any kind of hospitality feeling. Very plain. The AC was not working properly and we have to call the reception at midnight and they say they are controlling AC temperature from reception area and they will just set it to cooler now. Second night also same thing happened. Disturbed our sleep for 2 days. No lobby area as such. Bad coffee machine at reception.

Location was excellent and facilities were great. Rooms were spacious and clean. The beds were very comfortable We were not happy with the television. Not all the channels were working. The only English Channel was CNN which was just news. There was no ability to cast from mobile devices. This is quite poor for a 5 star hotel. Also, some of the front of desk staff struggled to communicate in English which made things difficult.

Room: Given that it’s a Courtyard the rooms were of their normal size found in their other properties around the world which is way bigger than a typical Japanese chain hotel. We requested a crib for our room and this one was a typical one found in many other hotels in Asia. It was still very comfy and our little one enjoyed naps in it. Location: Hotel is right above Sakaisuji Hommachi station which serves the Chuo and Sakaisuji lines but neither of which take you to Shin Osaka for the Shinkansen or Umeda for that you have to walk a bit further to Hommachi station which serves the Midosuji line, so if you’re coming and going via Shinkansen expect to walk a few blocks with your luggage. Otherwise there are a ton of eating spots within a short walk and Konbinis everywhere. Staff: As usual the staff were very friendly and nice, every time we entered and left we got a greeting. The free Nespresso machine in the lobby was a nice perk and was a good start to the day. Looking forward to staying here again!

Property is walking distance to all shopping centers (1.5miles). It’s situated on the quiet part of Osaka away from the noise of Doutonbori and shinshabashi areas. Quite, clean and rooms are larger than the average japanese rooms
