Miro Hotel Dotonbori

The location, Thier was a pile of trash near the door and an abundance graffiti. Not the hotel’s fault though.

Location Poor service of staff. Poor security. The door security code was generic. One drunk visitor even attempted to enter our room. We stayed for 6 nights and was not even offered to change sheets or towels

Quiet location circa 150m from the Dotonbori pedestrian streets. Western style room beds very comfortable. Okonomiyaki restaurant and Family Mart in same street. Bath short but at least deep. Front desk not always occupied. Pillows very thin and only 1 per single bed.

Great central location and not so expensive, but don’t expect anything amazing, rooms look old and basic. The bed was comfortable and we slept well, for 1 night it was ok.

Pleasant

Very central, 2-3 minute walk away from the main Dotonbori strip. Door to our room had a 2-3cm gap. People outside could see into our room. This room was also different from the others. I was able to look into the neighbouring room as they had checked out. Their room was nicely furnished with tatami mats. Our room was a concrete floor and honestly, seemed like they chucked a bed into a store room. No other door in the hotel had this issue.. I checked every floor. Questioned staff about the gap in the door but they said they could not do anything about it. No help at all and no compensation or reassurance with this situation. Strange how they could put this room up to be booked with a massive gap. There was another large metal door that could be partially closed in front of the door with the gap but due to the proximity of the handles it could not be fulled closed. My partner and I did not feel very secure or safe in this room. Luckily we only planned 3 nights in Osaka. We also asked the receptionist to send our luggage from Osaka to Tokyo. We would normally pay for this upfront (based on previous times we sent our luggage), however, the receptionist told us to pay in Tokyo. He took our luggage and did not give me the tracking number until I asked. Once we arrived in the next hotel in Tokyo, we were told of our mistake. Poor form from Miro staff. I would expect them to know how the luggage service worked. Would not recommend and will not be returning to this hotel. *Room 606 was our room. Location Amazing location in Dontonbori but the room is old, quite dirty and my door lock didn't work (room 403). Another guest used her room key card after midnight and opened my door and walked into my room and realized she was in the wrong room when she woke me up. I brought this to attention of the reception staff. Hopefully it gets fixed.

The staff were welcoming and the location was perfect, a stone throw from Dotonbori The room was insanely dusty, shower mouldy :( we had a twin room and one pillow was soft and clean, the other was rock hard and brown and stained! we stayed 6 nights and there was no cleaning, if you want a fresh towel you have to ask at reception. The toilet smelt strongly of urine, and duvet smelt musty. The price was good and if we had to stay somewhere on a tight budge, we would maybe stay a night or two again, but.. could not stay any longer than that!

Great location, the room was very comfortable, the staff ready to help. Very quiet and peaceful, despite being so close to the city center. there was no staff until 9am, and the auto door was not working properly so we had to force it open at some point. Thought we would be stuck, but everything went well after all.

Good for those on a budget. I’d compare it to an American Super 8 motel. Great location, kind staff. Gaps in the room door. No shower curtain. Twin bed sheets for a full size bed. Luggage storage is not secured, anyone can take it. Overall doesn’t look as nice as the pictures. Chinese restaurant downstairs and alcohol store in hotel lobby.

It was a great location, offered a good price, and the staff allowed us to borrow umbrellas on a rainy day. We would stay here again.

Only location is great, other than that its very alright. Nothing special to comment about. 1. Cleanliness needs to be taken care of. We stayed for 4 nights but they were no housekeeping at all. (Understand that it already stated as a green hotel). If you need housekeeping services, you'll have to pay for it. However, you can request for towels to be changed everyday. Towels are smelly and some can be seen with black spots. Clean towels can be seen putting on the floor outside the corridor by the housekeepers. 2. Amenities - no plastic cups only paper cups. And no spoon in the room. 3. You can smell people eating hotpot from the restaurant downstairs in the room. Air ventilation is very bad. 4. Toilet - Cannot flush properly. Needs a bit of time. Overall this hotel is very very old and will need refurbishment. Will not come back.

Excellent location, very close to the train station and tourist attractions, with convenient transportation options and nearby convenience stores. Luggage storage is also available.
