Fairfield by Marriott Osaka Namba

Location and comfortable I have to pay for my coffee, at the lobby, not like other hotels, there’s a complimentary coffee and teas..

The room was cozy but very well laid out. There was good water pressure in the shower which to me is super important. And I just had the best sleep I've had on the bed there. I don't know what type of bed they use at Marriott but it's really excellent I did feel like the air quality in the laundry room was not the best. It felt like it was very dusty in there.

The hotel was close to shopping and the main hub in Namba. The hotel was very clean and staff were very friendly. The rooms were on the small side and tight to navigate with 2 suitcases. I found the shampoo/ conditioner and wash very thin and not as great quality as some of the other hotels we stayed in Japan.

It was clean and staff was nice. Room on the second floor, right next to busy street. Breakfast wasn't too great.

Rooms are very spacious compared to hotels in Tokyo, they have a modern look and felt very nice. Staff were friendly and spoke a decent amount of English which helped a lot! Location was very close to many tourist destinations in Osaka which was very convenient. It was also only about 9 minutes from the Midusoji rail line which made getting to other parts of Osaka and its surrounding areas very easy! Tv was hard to use but that’s probably because I don’t know Japanese

The breakfast provides good value. The room is very small. We paid an extra fee for the third person in a room, but the hotel did not upgrade us to a bigger room. With the value we paid for this accommodation, I don't recommend this hotel for a family with kids.

Cleanliness is not as good as it should be for Mariott Chain’s hotel

I like the modern simple design of the room with wooden-like floors a plus since I hate carpeting. I chose this hotel for the price and the design of the rooms, the location was good enough still in the Namba area. It was just outside the chaotic area near Dotonbori but without all of the crowds and noise. The subway train was only a few blocks away and we took the train to go everywhere. They also had a coin operated laundry room that I was able to use on a rainy afternoon when no one was around. I did not like the Manager at the hotel, I asked the front desk clerk for change I needed 100JPY coins for the laundry she asked a woman who I believe was the manager and she told her not to give me change. I noticed this hotel was mostly hands off, it seems they didn't want to do anything extra for the guests since the price of the rooms were low. They even charge for the coffee machine in the lobby area where they also sell snacks, drinks etc. You would think they could offer free coffee to guests. Also the rooms had no English channels to watch they even had a voice over for BBC News. We ended up watching baseball when we were in our room. This is a problem I noticed all over Japan, no English cable channels for guests to watch even at the expensive hotels.

The room was always clean, I literally got 0 times a dirty bedsheet (which often happens to me)! Hotel provided every thing that you need for a comfortable stay. Also, since I was alone I was a bit scared that there gonna be privacy problems, but everything was secured and I had nothing to complain about :-) I think it would be nice to have some chopsticks in the room!
