The hotel is a unique older building with a modern bathroom in the room. The room is small but well laid out with a balcony which made the room feel larger. The building is beautiful with a large skylight in the hallway of the top floor. The room had AC which was nice. The common/breakfast area was very clean and inviting and opened out onto a cute garden. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Not an issue for me but this was a walk up and we were on the 3rd floor. The staff offered to help with our bags but we were traveling light and declined. I saw a stair chair that went to the second floor.

Each of the staff were exceptionally helpful and kind during my two nights stay. Rooms were clean and quite comfortable. Being a solo traveller I felt very safe. A bonus was the wonderful restaurant “100 Culpas” next door - such good food!

When we checked in the man checking us in was so very nice. He took time to answer our questions and he gave us excellent recommendations for dinner and walking the city. He started our vacation off in an excellent way. I wish I can remember his name, he was very kind.

We were traveling for our honeymoon and Jose Lopes made sure that we had a wonderful time. He even greeted us with a glass of Port Wine, a hand-written congratulations card, and a bottle to celebrate. We will definitely stay there again!

Comfortable room - large and bed was great. Jose at front desk was incredibly helpful with directions, laundry and all questions I had. Breakfast was good value. Nespresso coffee machine, fruit, juices and assorted pastries, ability to make toast. Served starting at 8 am. About 10 -12 minute walk to river and cathedral. Nothing! Very much enjoyed my 2 night stay while on the Camino.

Good location, walking distance to the river. A good continental breakfast for 10€~worth it. Helpful staff, young mate on the front desk especially. Parking station across the road for 16€ a day was convenient. The parking station ( third party) packs the cars in like Portuguese sardines. Had to access my car via the passenger side. If you are old or incapacitated this could be an issue for you. But nothing wrong with the hotel.
