Fit out, decor, food, staff, all of the above... Renovations however that cannot be avoided. A gym would also be good.

We loved our king suite with mountain and lake views. The housekeeping each day was a lovely touch. Nothing.

Newly renovated room was lovely with extra daily inclusions which our kids loved (rocks, lolly jars, hot chocolate) and made the stay more special for us, breakfast is wonderful and very friendly chef. Access to town with kids in very cold conditions wasn't always easy as we often had to rely on walking; more frequent shuttle times from the hotel would help so much.

Room had an amazing view of the lake and mountains, just beautiful to wake up and see that. Room was spacious and had everything you would need. Bed was so comfy, and loved the bath in the big bathroom.

The breakfast was incredible as were the nightly wine/cheese and whiskey and chocolate tasting. Staff were friendly, but didn't seem empowered to help or escalate issues. Bed was amazing as usual with QT. I.don't think I've ever written a bad review, and this is months after our amazing trip, so let's see: This was our first 3 nights, and more than we're usually comfortable spending, however we splurged because it was our anniversary and a real bucket list trip. The room provided wasn't the one listed on Booking.com... the view was on a lower level and obscured by a large wall and a courtyard that wasn't accessible. It was also right next to a large building site and scaffolding where the hotel was renovating. I brought this up to staff the night we checked in, and were told that was the room and they had nothing else. We went to sleep that night and were woken up by noise and vibration at 8am. I went down to reception and they apologised, but couldn't do anything. I walked into town to buy earplugs so we could have a sleep in, but it was so loud and unreasonably resonant that I couldn't help but think it was a joke. When we were about to leave for the day I checked with reception again, and they said to come back as there might be one other option. Later they showed me the new room (they said they had others but weren't authorised to upgrade based on the room rate we had paid), but again the view was obscured, and the hallways leading to what I later found out was the original QT weren't finished ... skirting boards missing, patched walls,, areas closed off, signs explaining that there were major works underway. There was a big group staying and limited rooms due to the works. We decided not to change rooms, and we had early mornings for the rest of the time, so the noise didn't impact us. The staff left an apology note and a bottle of wine, which was nice. In the light of day we found that the outdoor furniture had its sales tags still on, and there was dried sauce smeared across the peephole of the door (I let someone know, they cleaned it while we were out).

The little surprise and delight moments like wine tastings in the lobby and treats delivered to our hotel room were what made this truly an exceptional experience, the bed was a dream and the location was also great My check in was delayed by an hour

LOVED our stay at the QT Queenstown! Love the guest experiences - from smoothies and pastries in the morning, cheese and wine and the gin and chocolate tastings. It was clean, staff were helpful and friendly and we really enjoyed ourselves. No gym onsite. Would love a gym and sauna. Also assistance with luggage would be appreciated especially as we had two little ones with us.

Beautiful renovation and upgrades to the bar and restuarant since our last visit. Very friendly and helpful staff We had a towel delivered to our room with two large holes in it. We had room service with mains and desert one evening and did not receive spoons for our desert. On more than one occasion we went to use the bar or restuarant and it was booked out for an event so had to leaveour accomodation
