Hitching Post Studios Inn

Nice old school motel where you still drive your car up to the door of the room. They've updated the rooms and they're very nice, especially the shower. Stayed here several times and it's always been nice.

Staff in office was helpful. Rom smells extremely strong of cleaning products. It took two washes to get the smell out of our laundry and luggage. Bed was a bit too soft for us. Seems fairly secure but not much effort toward aesthetics or maintenance. Great to have parking/lot was a bit tight. Pretty quick drive distance from Santa Cruz civic center venue. Seems to house some long term residents and some short term guests.

This is my second time staying here at the Hitching Post. The room I got this time was with a king size bed and a kitchenette which I did not expected but definitely a plus. My partner and I really liked the location and it's close to nearby restaurants and shops. The only minor critique I have are the bed sheets, they felt like paper. Suggestion to the property owners, the shower needs a plastic curtain lining behind the fabric one because it absorbs too much shower water and leaks out onto the floors. The bed was good because I slept like a log. Overall, this was a pretty good stay. I'll continue to book in the future.

Stayed for 5 days, everything was perfect!

This place is great. Big, clean room. Quiet spot. Easily accessible. It would be very easy to miss because it’s an older motel, but it was clear from the nice cars in the parking lot that we weren’t the only people who felt like they found a great place for the purpose. I’ve stayed before, and I’ll likely stay again next time I want to do a weekend in the area.

I love the king bed with the spacious room. I also love the little patio set outside of the rooms. It’s a great option when passing through the area. Great service too. I’ll return! Only complaint is there’s no dishwear or baking sheets included in the full kitchen. They have available for rent at front desk. But if you decide last minute to utilize kitchen. It’s not as convenient if you don’t plan ahead.

It’s bare-bones but pretty good. Decent bed, better than average pillows, a/c worked and was pretty quiet. OK shower, good fridge & tv; coffee pot.

Friendly staff. Great value. Clean. We rented the room with kitchenette which was convenient and also was quite rummy. Many TV channels weren't included so we couldn't watch. The others where from older shows or movies or advertising of products for sale.

The nightstand needed to be cleaned. No Decaf coffee offered. Otherwise, I feel I received what I paid for.

This motel is clean, feels safe and has been updated nicely. It's nothing fancy, but great for a couple of days. The price is very reasonable and the office staff was very nice. It could have used a couple more (or fuller) pillows, but overall very nice and we wil be back.

Room included full kitchen, bed was comfortable, host at property was very helpful and friendly. Excellent value and location.
