It was walking distance to downtown but it is an older place. Bathroom was tiny. One of doors into the hallway did not open with our key had to walk to second door and back towards our room.

The rooms are a decent size. The AC units are very loud. There was a kind of funky smell in the room, hard to explain exactly what it was. The soap dispenser in shower was empty and the remote didn’t work, but we were there for only one night so didn’t have a chance to get augmented.

The bathroom wasn’t clean. I told the office, and someone was sent to clean it up. I went back when it was ready and checked the bathroom again, but it looked like they had cleaned it very quickly because the bathroom still wasn’t clean. I went and told the office, and we walked into the room. He literally grabbed toilet paper to clean it up and was like, “Sorry.” He didn’t even bother to move me to a new room. The shower was also very dirty, and all the water was going outside of the shower.

Comfortable bed. Clean room. Quiet area

Well located, Good pricing. Furnishings mix of new and very dated. No real services but none to be expected at this price.
-
Very basic hotel with no concept of hospitality
-
basic, no-frills rooms, moderately clean bedding. There used to be a pool, but it's been paved over.

Great location, good parking

Before staying at this property, I had read the reviews with statements such as "clean". This was a disappointing experience. Our first encounter with a guest was a pot smokng young man who would not move to allow us up the stairs to our room. Upon walking inside, we found that the property is poorly maintained. The cental hallway on the second floor where we stayed was filthy. The floors in the rooms have not been cleaned in some time. For example, we spilt some water in front of the dresser drawers in the middle of the room - and used a cloth to wipe it up. The cloth turned brown from the dirty floors. The towels are thin as can be without falling apart and are abrasive. The toilet paper is so think it is virtually useless. There is a "help wanted" sign in the lobby - which seems to indicate that the property is doing what it can to get by. The air conditioning unit is poorly place in a corner, where a desk and chait block the circulation of air into the room. I cannot recommend this motel to anyone.

Me and my wife and kids spent the weekend and I couldn’t be so thankful on how jay accommodated us with a great room. The room was clean and spacious. Not to far from great restaurants and locals bars as well. I highly recommend this place for your next stay in Santa Cruz.

The first thing we, as a group collectively, noticed was that it was not a very clean room. There was bits of black shaved hair still stuck on the bath lip of the shower; crumbs from previous meals were on the countertop by the TV, we never walked around without socks or shoes on, things like that. However, the room was exceptionally spacious and the beds passed the "beg bug" check. The shower did not have any hot water and there were only two outlets in the entire spacious room, which both were annoyingly far behind the beds. We learned pretty quickly that our short chargers were not going to work. Other than that, the appliances (the fridge, microwave, tv) worked well. Despite everything listed above, it was not a bad stay. Just average.

Pretty close to the boardwalk. Room seemed clean but the bed had a stain when we first got there. Made the impression that they don’t change the sheets? We stayed for 2 nights but if you’re staying til Monday, know that the garbage truck will wake you up that morning since walls weren’t that soundproof.

The biggest issue with my stay was the strong urine smell in the room. My main goal was to relax and unwind, but the smell made it difficult to feel comfortable. The body wash dispenser in the bathroom was also completely empty, and there was no coffee provided in the room. Overall, I was disappointed with the cleanliness and basic amenities, especially considering I stayed here hoping to have a relaxing experience.

Bad

The room was comfortable and quiet. The hotel is basic but fine for one or two nights. It’s centrally located with free parking and a nice perk was the self-serve station to make coffee drinks in the front office.

Avoid. Pretty gross place. Good reviews are from bots or people on a binge. Loud, dirty room, peeling paint, stained sheets, phone covered in dust like the room was never cleaned in the history of man, shower from a horror movie, and a staff to match. Had to grab room on short notice and all other hotels from 200-300 were booked. Should have slept in rental car. Booked for two nights sight unseen, then after walking in room went to front desk. Understand the first night not being refunded, but no reason to not refund night two. Still checked out for night two and got a room luckily at Hampton Inn. Was WAY better. Zero help from bare foot guy running front desk, and this sites customer service was no help either. Stay all over the world using this platform and this will be last.

Walking distance from Boardwalk was very convenient. The room and bed were huge, it had all the amenities necessary. The bad thing (for me as a short person)😏 too many stairs. At night not enough parking spaces.🙄 Also the vending machines need to get fixed or have more options. Overall I would recommend 👌The cleaning ladies were very nice.😀

It was a good place to stay for the price. The vent in the restroom was loud and the air conditioner was as well. But overall a decent place good location not too far from the boardwalk or beach.
-
Good location with free parking. 10 minute walk to downtown. It would be good to have grab bars in the bathroom for safety as shower was slippery.. guests in floor above very noisy into the early hours.
