Residence Inn by Marriott Somerset

Lobby is really clean and staff were friendly for the most part. The rooms on the other hand really need better upkeep. They were clean for the most part but there was a lot of damage in the room like to the chairs in the suite, the curtains had a huge rip in them, there were crayon marks on the walls and so on. Fine for a one night stay but probably not for a longer period.

The chair at desk had large burn hole in the middle of it. It looked like someone had their period all over the carpet in front of the bathroom sink. The thermostat couldn't be set above 75 and never seemed to get above 73.

Everything was quite good - neat and well organized. Breakfast was decent. What was a surprise was the $10 charge for parking. On the hotel information graphics within the room it still says parking is complimentary

I was going to Rutgers. They said on Expedia that the distance was 3.4 miles. It was 7 miles. I asked for directions. I was told they had none and to just follow the signs. There were no signs. Breakfast was below average. The queen size beds were to small. No kings available. The TV did not face the bed.

Staff was very kind. Breakfast was awesome! Everything was clean. Full kitchen in the room - even cooking utensils. The room needed some repairs and staff was very appreciative that I let them know so they could have it fixed.

I had cigarette burns in my blankets the room and hall smells like smoke. The toilet seat was crooked. The breakfast sausage was dry and the cereal selection wasn’t all that great. It’s unfortunate there’s a pool that can’t be used. Wasn’t what I was expecting but it’s wasn’t awful I was just disappointed

The rooms were very spacious and clean. The living room furniture was a little worn, time for an update.

We were here for almost 2 weeks for a surgical procedure. Staff was amazing. Rooms were clean and spacious. We were able to order groceries & cook to help save money.

breakfast was fine - maybe more gluten free options would be nice but that is everywhere the couch was a little visually icky, but I wouldn't sit on any couch in any hotel room without covering it with a blanket or sheet anyway

I love that there were two bedrooms with two bathrooms and a kitchen. Perfect for our family. The hotel and room had a really bad smell. The hotel is also in need of remodeling. The chairs in the dining room/kitchen area of our suite were torn and “well used”.

I would recommend to others.

Very nice experience! The hotel is close to everything and the atmosphere was relaxed.
