Location and the staff were all extremely helpful and attentive Nothing not to like

A historical building restored and kept up, beautiful room furniture, large bathroom, spacious room, king size bed, staff was very helpful & advised us where to park economically A/C seemed to turn off at night & was a bit uncomfortable for me otherwise not much we don’t like, just wish we could have stayed longer

Very nice little Hotel integrated in old buildings. Spacy room. Our room hasn‘t a mini bar / frigde. Using Spa is not included in Room rate and will be charged extra. Car parking using service offered by the hotel is quite expansive, but a public park house is in walking distance and charges reasonable prices.

Everything was wonderful! The rooms are large and beautiful ! An older but perfectly renovated hotel from the 16th century. Gorgeous is not enough to say how much we liked this small hotel. The location is right in the Petite France neighborhood. The restaurant was the best we had from Paris to Reims! It is an extremely quiet neighborhood, and of course in the small Old Town part of Strasbourg you are within in an easy walk of everything. We were super surprised at the value of the hotel too! Nothing. It was one of our best hotel experience from France to Spain to Portugal and Italy! As good as we have enjoyed right up their with our Galway hotel, and our Antequera spain experience. Oh and one is Sterling Scotland too.

Very large room, very comfortable bed in good location and very helpful and friendly staff Sloping roof was a bit of a problem for me (6ft 5in, 1.93m) around the edge of the room and the air conditioning seem to struggle to keep the room cool (although it was 38 deg C outside)

We had a wonderful stay at Hôtel & Spa Le Bouclier D'Or and would happily return. The hotel is full of character and charm, with a beautiful historic atmosphere that makes you feel as though you've stepped back in time, while still offering every modern comfort. The staff were exceptional—warm, welcoming, professional and genuinely accommodating. After a very difficult night at our previous accommodation due to the extreme heat and lack of air conditioning, they kindly arranged an early check-in because of my medical condition. Their kindness and understanding made a huge difference and were greatly appreciated. The room was spotless, the bathroom was beautiful, and the air conditioning was excellent. The location is perfect for exploring Strasbourg on foot, with the picturesque old town, canals and bridges all within easy walking distance. For anyone travelling with a UK Blue Badge, my experience was very positive. Although parking immediately outside the hotel is limited unless you use the hotel's valet parking service, I found a pay-and-display space just two streets away (less than a four-minute walk). I displayed my UK Blue Badge and wasn't charged during my stay. There were also a small number of disabled parking bays nearby. Parking regulations can change, so I would recommend checking the current local guidance, but I wanted to mention my experience as I know it may be helpful for other disabled travellers. Overall, the staff genuinely go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Strasbourg. The only minor things I felt were missing were a refrigerator in the room, which would have been useful for keeping food and drinks cold, and the limited parking immediately outside the hotel if you don't use the valet parking service. Our room also overlooked a restaurant with outdoor seating, so during the evening we could hear people chatting and laughing below. It wasn't excessively noisy and the atmosphere was actually quite pleasant, but if you're someone who likes to go to bed early or is a very light sleeper, it's worth bearing in mind. Thankfully, it had quietened down by around 10 pm, so it wasn't a major issue. Overall, these were only minor inconveniences and certainly wouldn't stop me from staying here again.
