Phenomenal location and hotel. Very clean and well mannered staff. Very welcoming and friendly. The sake tasting was great, along with the private dinner. Would absolutely stay again and strongly recommend.

Staff was amazing. Cozy place to stay, the dinner and breakfast were delicious. Such a great place to stay when in Tokyo, walking distance to temple as well. Will recommend it.

Staff was nice My wife and I booked this property to end our 3 week trip through Japan for an authentic ryokan experience, but it was the most disappointing stay of our trip throughout the entire country The room was MUCH smaller than advertised—barely larger than the bed, with a doorway so low we had to duck to enter. The private “onsen” was just tap water and cramped for even one person, nothing like the mineral-water onsen experience you’d pay for and expect. Being placed on the same floor as the public bath meant constant hallway traffic, and the thin walls made it hard to relax or feel any kind of privacy. At around ¥90,000 ($750 CAD) per night, this was also our most expensive stay, yet we had FAR better experiences elsewhere in Japan for less than half the price. After reading other reviews, it’s clear our experience was not unique and mirrors concerns others have raised as well. The staff were kind and professional, but the property itself did not match how it was presented online. I also reached out privately before reviewing and received no response. Based on our experience, I do not recommend staying here.

Wonderful staff, good location, atmospheric aesthetics. It’s all pretty compact. The half-board meals were fabulous, but we would have preferred to try somewhere new on our second night.
-
Very helpful and welcoming staff. The dinner at the associated restaurant was the best of our trip. We enjoyed the rooftop bath. Great last night of our Japan journey. While this was not a problem for us, tall people might have to watch their heads. Also no in room coffee for early risers.

The best place ever! I loved my stay. So clean and calm. The staff is the best and so sweet

The open-air bath was perfect to relax after a full day of walking and exploring.
-
Level of service was great. This is very picky because everything was so good, but I would prefer to keep a key on me always instead of leaving it.

Beautiful, calm, and extremely comfortable

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with exceptional hospitality. While they collected our passport information, we were served welcome tea and a small snack, which made the check-in process feel relaxing rather than procedural. It immediately set the tone for what became one of the most peaceful and memorable stays of our trip. Our room with the outdoor bath on the 6th floor felt like stepping back in time, but with modern comfort and design. Though compact, the space was thoughtfully arranged and had everything we needed. Being able to enjoy the bath before dinner was a highlight, and the natural mineral water was incredibly soothing — we used the bath several times during our one-night stay. The dinner restaurant was just a short walk away and was truly a must-try experience. The meal was beautifully prepared and allowed us to try wagyu in ways we never would have ordered ourselves. It was one of the standout dining experiences of our entire month-long trip. After dinner, we explored the nearby shops before returning to relax in the bath again. In the morning, we woke early and were able to visit the nearby shrines before the crowds arrived, which was very special. The complimentary traditional breakfast, served while wearing the provided yukatas, was excellent and felt like a complete cultural experience. The atmosphere, service, food, and overall experience were exceptional! The only thing we would change is staying longer next time — it was very hard to leave. We will absolutely return and make this a stop on future visits.

The staff was very helpful, friendly, and respectful. We appreciated the details in the authentic decor, and whole experience. We loved the outdoor bath experience, especially after a long trip The calcium marks in the outside bath.

It was light, simple, but very good! Nothing

Everything about this place was amazing. Staff was beyond helpful and kind.
-
The traditional tatami room and futon experience felt authentic and peaceful; the hospitality was warm and attentive; and the overall atmosphere was quiet, intimate, and deeply relaxing. Sleeping on a futon takes a little adjustment if you’re used to Western beds, especially if you have joint sensitivity.

I liked there open air bath and our private bathroom. We thought the informational graphic was very helpful for the yukata. Nothing.
