Sutton Place Hotel Ueno

Great location, walking distance from train station.

The junior suite was large by Tokyo standards. Adequate room for 3 and luggage and to move around. The room was clean, the overall facility is older. The wooden floors are nice but makes it noisy as people move about in the floors above you. The proximity to the Ueno train station which is also a shinkassen station makes it very convenient. Close to Ueno station. The staff were very accommodating, while the system let us know that check in is at 4:30pm when we arrived the staff informed us that we could check in earlier than 4:30. This was really gracious of them. The rooms are big, bigger than normal hotel rooms in Tokyo and we fit comfortably in the junior suite with room to spare. When we pushed the beds together, it was clear that some parts of the room had not been cleaned for some time. Also, the facilities are dated, such as keys for the room door, and a dated bathroom. The bathroom, while sufficiently large, there was also indication that mold had been treated recently.

Decent hotel next to the train station. Hotel needs to be modernized. Looks like it was a nice hotel at one point in time.

This hotel is very conveniently located a short 5 minute walk from Ueno Station, Iriya Exit. Ueno Park and museums are a short walk away. A 10 minute walk to Ameyoko Market.

The bed was comfortable and the location was great. The room was very, very small. There was no place where we could sit and relax. The bed was up against the wall.and hardly any room around it. I recognize rooms are smaller in Japan.

The property management was very understanding and helped us sort the issue that we had due to the typhoon. Great service!

Nice location. Clean and nice room. The room will not be cleaned unless you specifically ask for it one day before. At check in I asked to have my room cleaned every other day, but they told me I have to come every time to ask for cleaning. A bit annoying, otherwise all good.

Cramped

Great location, close to the Ueno park and station. Between road and train station. A bit noisy (earplugs helped so it was okay)

Perfect hotel for a single night sleep next to the Ueno station. It's a business hotel. It came with

- just a few meters' walk from Ueno Station Iriya Exit and the JR Lines - good accessibility to Ueno Ameya-Yokocho and the night happening, good food options around - there is a Famima at the next corner for easy kombini runs (breakfast not provided by hotel) - small room space but cozy enough, typical of most Tokyo hotels - the staff were very friendly and helpful - stayed beyond his shift to help us - still relatively expensive for our stay, but expected for a Tokyo hotel and the sakura season - the hotel felt old, but it's not bad - there was only 1 elevator..

Good location, very close to Ueno Station, surrounded by convenience store The room is too small and there is no room service. I had to bring down the trash separate them before throwing into the bin. To be fair, I’m ok with all this, the room is small which is typical for budget hotel room in Japan but when compare to the high season price, it’s way too expensive.

I took a plan that does not include BF. WiFi and TV reception was very poor. I did not use any google map or app and had a little trouble finding the place. Maybe this is only my problem but the sign was hotel sign was not noticeable. Plus, entrance to the hotel and the elevator was situated in a hidden place. One time, the elevator light was very dark inside,
