Grand Hotel Francais

Hotel location could not have been better, super central walk to everywhere. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Big shout to to the amazing cocktail skills of Vincent in the Hotel bar each night - Was such a joy to come "home" each evening to Vincent ....

Exceptional

The location was excellent. The greeting on arrival was lovely and friendly. It was great to have a water fountain in reception. All was great The only suggestion would be an ice machine in reception as well. A street map of Bordeaux would be handy

Nice location Small room no fridge

Lovely mix of new and classic styles. It’s tucked away but is a large hotel! Room was fine, clean and what we needed but no fridge and you could see where the fridge used to be! Staff super friendly and held our bags for us before our flights. Room could do with updating perhaps - wires were sticking out of walls near sockets, bathrooms very small and there was no fridge in the room during the heatwave

Very good location. The lobby is very nice. The rooms look nothing like they do on booking sites. The bed was short. The room looker like it hadnt been renovated in a long time, the paint was coming off the walls. There was no was to indicate we didn’t want room cleaning. The bar was closed the whole time we were there. Breakfast was pretty bad- everything was cold, the cut fruit had gone bad and sour. Giving the key to the reception each time is impractical, the wrong key had been given to our friends and they entered someone else’s room, so I find the argument of “security reasons” untrue.

Location Room rather small fir superior room. At breakfast, croissants all finished, bread virtually finished. Coffee out of a machine.

Bad

Beautiful building, very good breakfast, professional and friendly staff, and an excellent location for touring Bordeaux. My room was not clean! In general the hotel is excellent, but more time needed to be spent cleaning surfaces and vacuuming the room. Importantly, the linens were clean.

Great location First room (2 nights) was very small for two people. No room to walk, or place things. Second room (3 nights was satisfactory). No refrigerator in either room. Refrigerators were obviously removed at some time.

Great location, amazing staff, fantastic cocktail bar A bit expensive but maybe because Tour de France was in town

Exceptional

Staff are all very friendly. We checked in early and they gave us our room early which was great. Also loved the free filtered still and sparkling water. The last morning we had to leave early and they let us have coffee and a croissant for a minimal charge.

Its proximity to the city centre and tram to the airport We liked everything
