Poor food quality, no bilingual staff

This hotel was excellent from beginning to end I have no complaints . Great value and customer service my room was clean and comfortable I liked the customer service provided and the cleanliness

The public areas are well maintained and the staff are extremely friendly and approachable. The rooms themselves were lacking, in need of some upkeep.

Good location very close to the public beaches, and very close to the mangrove park. They are working on the place and it's obvious that it's improving everyday. I liked the welcome drink. The staff was really sweet. There's a couple of restaurants in the complex. Highlight is the pool area. The garden/pool is so gorgeous. I slept really well.

The property was nice especially the pool area and bar Upon check in, I was overcharged for the eco fee and when I went back to confront the worker on reception, he apologized and gave me some back however I do not think it was enough. Very discouraging as it was evident he was ripping me off as I was charged more than any other hotels

The room didn't have hot water to take a shower

The property staff was exceptionally nice. When I voiced a concern they responded very quickly. The location is exceptional. The rooms were very clean. It appears that the hotel in general is trying to do upgrades and is looking much better. The pool was nice. I do feel that it’s a good value for the price. I’d stay at Calypso again ? There were some quirks about the property. It took two tries for us to get hot water because the staff had failed to turn on the instant hot water heater but we did get hot water on the second day Secondly, I think the property is trying to conserve water understandably so the water pressure is real low but not terrible. The rooms are on a busy road that you can hear throughout the night but again not terrible. The beach was a little ways away. It cost us an additional $90 to have a refrigerator but for me it was worth it I hope through the owners renovation that they add a dresser for guest to put clothes away. I’d stay at the calypso again!?

The location It is an old hotel and the installations are deteriorated, they keep it clean, but not very well maintained.

The location was good. The staff were friendly. The pool is wonderful. Decent place to stay for a short visit. Captain Hook and isla mujeres shuttle across the street. Dining, pharmacy and a convenience store available downstairs is a plus! Room could use a full body wall mirror. Chairs for the balcony would be nice. The buffet did not have enough options to choose from for the price. Waffles were hard and burnt.

Location, pool zone Old room, not confortable beds
-
The location and the pool Rooms are outdated, no fridge in the room .

I didn't like anything. I left after 20 minutes and paid for a better hotel.

Overall good experience for the price. Large and comfortable room with a good view if you are on a high floor. Nice bathroom. Beds are good. Air-conditioning can be set to a quiet mode operation. Friendly personnel. Nice swimming pool area. Good food in the restaurant. That they don't allow to bring your own food or drinks is silly. However they didn't said anything about it to us.

The woman in the bar Eva, was such a wonderful person. She greeted me with a drink when I arrived.and everytime I saw her she had a welcoming smile and always greeted me with kindness. She deserves a promotion. When I ordered food, I watched her... she did not walk to the kitchen she ran. She was constantly cleaning and taking care of the other guest. I was really impressed with her work ethic. She was helpful with suggestions and always was happy. I will return just because of her. The room i booked said ocean view and I received one on the back of the building. I went to lay down and the bed was hard as a rock. I originally asked to be on the 9th or 10th floor in my request whem I booked. I was placed on the 4th floor. I have stayed here many times and that is the reason I requested that floor. Once i told the front desk about the bed they said it was an upgrade to that floor. Well the previous timw i was there it was not an upgrade. So I paid the estra $200 to get a comfortable bed on floor 9. When i got to that room the toilet did not work so they put me in another room. The 3rd room was next to the other one on 9th floor and the bed was comfortable. The problem with this room was that it smelled like sewage... I was told the smell was from the drainsso i placed plastic over the drains... that did not help so the sent someone the next dsy to investigate. They put a deoderizer behind the toilet tank to mask the smell but now it just stunk like a portapotty. They eventually moved me to a 4th room on floor 9 and i stayed in that room for the remainder of the week. The smell was the same in that room so i just slept with the patio door open the whole stay. I came to this hotel because i had stayed here multiple times before.it was not wven close to being full. They were renovating some rooms in the hotel and the noise was not desirable also.. there is obviosly a problem with the septic system. I will definitely check the room before i stay again.

The location is good, thats about it When I was adjusting the water temperature before taking a shower, the entire shower head suddenly fell off and hurt my arm. When I reported it to the front desk, they simply changed my room and asked me to speak with the manager the next morning. The “new” room they gave me also had a clogged sink. If the shower head had fallen while I was washing my hair, it could have hit my skull and caused a far more serious injuryWhat is worse, the hotel offered no compensation at all, not even a basic apology for the physical injury and psychological distress I suffered When I spoke to Manager Miguel the next day, his attitude was dismissive and irresponsible: 1. He said my injury was “too minor” to qualify for compensation, even though my arm was visibly red and scratched. 2. He claimed the shower head was “plastic” and could not cause harm — but I have photos proving it was made of heavy metal, not plastic. 3. He even implied that I might have damaged the shower myself, which is completely unacceptable. I have photos, recordings, and witnesses to prove the damage was not caused by me. 4. He refused to waive the room fee or offer any room upgrade, claiming there were “no available rooms,” even though I could clearly see that there were vacant rooms on the booking page.

The internet inside doesn't work, the booking app said the breakfast was included but it doesn't, and it said that it's located in front of the beach but doesn't and if you lose your key needs to pay 100.00
