Fantastic location, just a 1minute walk from the main train station and a very short walk to other tourist attractions, shops and restaurants. The staff were exceptional—professional, friendly and always greeting guests with a big smile. Nothing was too much trouble. The original features of the building are really interesting and add a lot of character to this lovely hotel. However, the place would benefit from some renovation, and having air conditioning would definitely be a great bonus.

The history of this hotel is cool, and not made clear when booking. Location is good but unfortunately the street is on feels run down. Lady who checked us in was very welcoming. Breakfast wasn’t good at all - little selection. They didn’t even have yoghurt. Coffee machine only had black coffee, and served in a tiny mug so no space to add milk. Pastries not cooked properly. Front door is filthy, I was put off just from seeing that. Carpet in communal spaces is totally worn and frayed - this is dangerous on the stairs. Luggage storage is not secure, staff did not check what bags were being taken out. Non hotel guests can also use this facility so very dangerous to store your belongings. All you can eat restaurant is located under most of the hotel (a large restaurant). Our room was above this, I was glad it was closed the night we stayed.

Great location, Great breakfast. Beware - no AC. This is a historic property so its understandable, but it was extremely uncomfortable in the summer heat. They provided a fan to blow around the hot air.
