It is located within walking distance to Gion & major shopping areas. Room is clean & comfortable. Staff were friendly & helpful. The microwave is hidden behind the wall (sliding door that looked like a wall) & we only found out the last day before we left.

Loved it! Would book any Kabin Location! Can’t fault it! Maybe early gym hours. I’m a 5am gal and waiting until 7am was ROUGH.

There's really too many things to list. One example, if you want a spoon, which is something you have to actually ask for, you get a flat piece of wood that is spoon shaped. It doesn't actually function as a spoon but they seem to think that's fine.

This was our favorite place that we stayed on our whole Japan trip. It’s beautiful, well located and comfortable. The staff are helpful and kind.

This is a beautiful hotel well located in a central, but quiet, neighborhood in Kyoto. The rooms are very comfortable and there is a gym and lounge space. Staff are kind and helpful. It felt like a home away from home and we would definitely stay here again. Not applicable

Our stay at Kabin Taka Kyoto was excellent and exceeded our expectations. The location is exceptional—just a short walk from the station and conveniently close to Kawaramachi, Nishiki Market, restaurants, shops, and many of Kyoto's main attractions. One of the biggest surprises was the room size. Having stayed in several hotels across Japan, we found the room at Kabin Taka to be noticeably larger and far more comfortable than most. It provided plenty of space for our family and made our stay much more enjoyable. The amenities were outstanding. Complimentary umbrellas were available whenever needed, and there was always easy access to fresh towels, robes, and other essentials. The property also offers excellent facilities, including microwaves, laundry rooms on two separate floors, meeting and common areas, a gym, and even a coin exchange machine. There was a LUUP station right outside, which made it easy to rent electric bikes and scooters for exploring Kyoto. The staff were consistently friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Every request was handled promptly and with a smile. Overall, Kabin Taka offers fantastic value, excellent facilities, spacious rooms, and an unbeatable location. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto. One VERY VERY IMPORTANT THING - their luggage transfer system is the best. The service does not put any restrictions on the size and weight of the luggage to be sent . The only minor drawback is that the front desk is not staffed after 11:00 PM. While there is a phone number provided for assistance after hours, having staff available later into the night would have been even better. Round the clock staff is available at their Kabin Tokyo branch - practically next street, who can also assist in resolving issues at Kabin Taka during off hours.

I especially liked that there was an option to rent electric scooters and bicycles right at the hotel entrance, as well as a convenient service for borrowing and returning portable power banks. Inside the room, I found the layout a bit inconvenient. The sink is located outside the bathroom and shower area, right next to the beds, which was not particularly comfortable or practical for us. The hotel's location also felt quite far from public transportation. Both the train station and bus stops were at least a 10-minute walk away. After a full day of sightseeing, especially in uncomfortable weather, this became tiring and somewhat inconvenient.

The location is really great just a few mins away from the Nishiki market and the busy shopping streets, also around 7 mins away from the subway. The room is spacious and clean, the building seems to be well maintained overall. It’s a little bit uncomfortable with no room cleaning service except every 4th night, we stayed 3 nights so we didn’t have the room cleaned and the luggage transfer service from the hotel is only exclusive to one service provider which cost 4000 yen per luggage’s and this is over priced compared to Yamata or other service providers in Japan!

Good location. Easy to go arpund

Everything was great only thing I didn’t love was the pillow, but everything else was amazing. Large room for Japan and price. Great location. Shower was wonderful. Best hotel of our whole trip. Pillow was really hard and second pillow was a bit small. I slept on them together and they were fine. Husband slept on only the little one and said he was kind of uncomfortable.

Spacious room, clean facilities, well located to easily walk to a lot of different areas of Kyoto. Nothing :)
