The Standard London
About The Standard London
Housed in the former Camden Town Hall Annex in London’s thriving King’s Cross neighborhood, the 1974 Brutalist building has been meticulously restored and is The Standard’s first hotel outside America. The property is just across the street from St Pancras International and Underground stations. All 266 rooms, from cozy Cozy Cores to terraced suites with outside bathtubs, are uniquely decorated, featuring private bathrooms, flat-screen TVs, Bang & Olufsen speakers, Italian bedding and complimentary toiletries. The Standard, London also features an eclectic in-house library lounge and bar, as well as its’ cultural hub; the Sound Studio, which hosts regular DJs, live music events and talks. Double Standard, The Standard, London’s bar and terrace, serves delicious hearty fare accompanied by beers, classic cocktails and offers a bottomless brunch on a Sunday, while next door in Isla, all-day dining from breakfast until late is available. The exterior red elevator takes guests directly to the 10th-floor where Chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias’ restaurant Decimo showcases live fire cooking and the building’s 360-degree views of London. Alongside, Sweeties is our cocktail bar, discotheque and late-night lounge which brings playful drinks and good vibes to the top floor. Come Summertime, The Rooftop at The Standard, London offers ice-cold cocktails, bao buns and unbeatable city views. A deposit of £100 per night is requested on arrival to cover in case of extras or incidentals added to the room.

The location was perfect. I had received this stay as a gift for my 30th Birthday and the hotel really made sure I enjoyed my stay.

Creat dinner in isla Carpets felt a bit cheap
-
The location across from Kings Cross/St Pancras was most convenient. The layout of the toilet with an open shower was not convenient.
-
Location and its kitschy decor. The continental breakfast had flies flitting about. None of the foods which required refrigeration were put on ice. Salmon at room temperature is a great way to get your guests sick. I steered clear of that option.

I treated my daughter to this stay at the Standard while she was vacationing in London for a few days. She absolutely loved it. She sent me several messages saying how luxurious it was, and that the staff was very attentive. It is in the neighborhood she wanted to stay in, and the train station is right across the street. She also loved the view. I had upgraded her to a Queen Deluxe from the twin bed room. However, when she got there, she downgraded to the regular queen room. I thought the extra cost would go directly to my visa that I used to originally pay booking.com, but it did not. I'm still trying to figure out how much the regular Queen bed room cost when upgraded from the twin.
