Hotel Monterey Le Frere Osaka

Good hotel in a good location.

Great location, close to Osaka Station, a lot of shopping and restaurants in 5 minutes walking distance. Very clean and fully equipped, nice staff and free public bath. Room is a bit small for three persons, but it’s common in big Japanese city, so acceptable.

For our companies, it was quite conveniently located as it situated in the entertainment commercial district. Also close to the station. Good security practice with keycard system. The communal lounge space was limited and only available during the certain hours. As we were travelling with other couple, we wanted to have more common space to be able to talk etc. as the room was squashy. The staff were all very plain, no emotions. I didn't feel welcomed. The laundry system was helpful but only few available and so many guests were using it. The dryers weren't properly monitored/maintained and I cleaned the filters for everyone of them. (My hair covered with the fluffy things)

Great location right next to subway leading to Osaka station and various lines. Hundreds, yes hundreds of restaurants close by. Great breakfast. Nothing.

The room was clean and with good space. Beds were comfortable. There was no noise despite room facing the road. Check-in and check-out was very easy. The hotel had sent our transferred luggage to the room when we arrived. There was no facility in the hotel except the public bath. There was very little room in the lobby to sit.

Had a wonderful stay at Hotel Monterey Le Frere. The hotel was clean, with modern facilities but with a classic style, and comfortable. The rooms had all the amenities we needed. Towels of multiple sizes, hangers, daily pajamas, toiletries, blowdryer, coffee station, a common iron for pants, etc. They provided kiddie slippers, face towel, and a cute toothbrush set for my child. The staff were courteous and willing to help especially with luggages. They kept our luggages safe in the lobby because we went in before check in time. They also let us leave our luggages after checkout until our flight. They’re part of the Teburakun luggage forwarding service so our transfer from Kyoto to Osaka was stress-free. The location was also very convenient, about 10 mins walk from the main Osaka Umeda station, with easy access to restaurants, shops. Many open izakayas at night. The rooms were well-maintained and quiet. I didn’t get the chance to try the onsen though. Overall, a very good stay. None

The location which was close to the convenient store, drug store/pharmacy and the station. Microwave don’t heat much but it’s not a real problem.

Particularly one of the staff member was a bit short with us on our check in day. Other staff was great.

Market downstairs and family market 2-3 minutes walk Has laundry facility on the third floor During my stay, there was an earthquake. Try to get out the building via exit, unfortunately, it was locked. I went down to the reception after elevator resume functioning to ask why the exit was locked. Unfortunately, didn’t get the answer.

Elevators took a very long time. Always was waiting and often had to miss elevators as they were full. Not a huge deal but a bit of an inconvenience. Area was not that pleasant but very accessible to get around.

Breakfast

Quiet dispite being right in the center of Osaka. Close to various stations including umeda. The onsen was a nice touch. Staff was great - and the room was large (Again for being in Osaka my expectations were exceeded) Onsen was a bit smaller than I expected. It was nice to have, just small! A bit of a walk from umeda in the underground. Google maps will be your friend but it is tricky.

Building was nice, and appreciated having the onsen in the building The breakfast was simply not good.

The location was convenient — easy access to a subway and a big underground shopping mall. The staff was very kind to ship a left item to another hotel for us and let us stow our bags when we arrived early. The rooms were clean and the combo washer/dryer worked well (although drying is always slow in those combination machines - 4 hr total cycle). The room is tight but that’s typical for Japanese hotels and the square footage was clear on booking.com.

It’s a bit of a walk from Osaka-Umeda Station, about 10+ mins depending on how fast you walk. Walking back to the hotel with tired kids was a bit of a challenge but otherwise it was a great hotel.
