Sudamala Resort, Sanur

The staff were amazing. The pool fabulous and breakfast was the best. Nothing to dislike.

The main entrance and central garden was the highlight. The large trees and grass surrounded by grapevines overhanging the walkways framing the park-like area was stunning. The breakfast was another highlight. The pool area was okay, but nothing to rave about. We really liked the location. The whole place needed a good scrub (gurny) both inside and outside. Our garden room was particularly bad. There was mould everywhere. The curtains, lamp shades, walls, bathroom and furnishings were mouldy. The room had a terrible smell from the deodoriser that the hotel and installed to cover up the damp mouldy smell. We got it turned off and it took about 24 hours to improve and then it was mainly a damp smell, which was actually better than the deodoriser. The furniture in the room was stained and uncomfortable. We didn't sit in the courtyard as it was dark, damp and had mosiquitoes. Nothing dried well in the courtyard and there was nothing to hang wet clothing or towels on outside. The bathroom was open to the outdoors and therefore had mosiquitoes as well. The cane blinds for privacy in the bathroom were falling apart. They should install flyscreens instead. The silicone around the sink was mouldy and the sink drain was disgustingly filthy. The tiles were old, some loose and the grout was old, missing or dirty. The walk-in wardrobe had a huge hanging space but only had 4 coat hangers and no shelving so it was not a practical space at all. Simply put, I tried to spend as little time as possible inside our room as it made me feel sick. I assume the garden rooms are worse as they don't get adequate ventilation or sunlight. If I was paying $40 AUD per night, I probably wouldn't have been so disappointed but since I was paying $200 AUD per night, I expected much better than this. All the little extra touches you get for this kind of price meant nothing to me when I had to put up with such a terrible environment to sleep in.

The location, the staff, the food, the pool, the room, the proximity to Sanur beach. That we had to stay in another location on our first night. We.met with the manager who agreed to refund us for that night..we are still awaiting the refund

A mom who treasures her rare nights of solo travel, when I can finally savor some quiet and stillness. I appreciate a peaceful space to rest and recharge, and I notice the little touches that turn a stay into something memorable. Genuine warmth goes a long way with me.

Beautiful setting, spotlessly clean, fabulous breakfast , super smiling and welcoming staff. They juggled rooms for us to allow us an extended checkout as we had a late flight. Pool was wonderful as were the loungers. Great WiFi and AC. Spacious bathroom. Lovely touch at turndown - cookies and a story to read. Mosquito net. Poor lighting in the room; insufficient power outlets requiring a floor light to be unplugged to use the kettle.

Sudamala Resort was a beautiful mixture of traditional Balinese style and luxury. The staff were gracious, fun and unfailing helpful and a huge part of the charm of the place. We were met upon arrival with traditional Balinese blessings and welcome and a cool refreshing beverage. The rooms were spacious, beautifully appointed and very clean. The grounds are green and lush with flowering trees, ponds and traditional Balinese art. It has a lovely swimming pool area and yoga studio. The on site restaurant was a favorite, with breakfast lunch and dinner menus with lots of delicious choices and wonderful staff, and both indoor and outdoor seating options. We were repeat customers at the spa as well which was top notch. I highly recommend the Balinese massage. One of our group got a bad sunburn on a snorkeling trip and they got her right in within 30 minutes for a facial and a cooling body wrap specifically designed to soothe sunburns, that made a huge difference in recovery time! The resort is also located within a short walk to the beach with its own dedicated seating area on the beach. They have bicycles available for guests, umbrellas and front desk personnel are on duty 24/7. I highly recommend Sudamala Resort and happily look forward to staying with them again on our next trip to Bali.

It would have been nice to have a small kids pool.

Breakfast, room and pool was very good. The breakfast was a good mix with plenty of choices, the room was clean with a very comfortable bed. The night time turn down service on the room was good and would always give it another tidy up. The hotel location is only about a 5 min walk from the beach. The hotel is located in a nice street area with plenty of shops and food restaurants. Some mornings getting a pool towel early was difficult as they did not put them out first thing. Also some mornings the pool area and pool could have old plant leaves etc around that did not get cleaned up as in previous stays when there always seemed to be a gardener sweeping and cleaning.

Maybe more vegan options for breakfast and room service would be great.

Great Location a short walk to the beach. Free bikes and beach loungers were a bonus. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing with wonderful fresh food. Nothing

Green oasis in the middle of the city, super clean, staff was soo friendly and rooms are spacious and luxury. Also the restaurants food was soo delicious! We came back a second time because it was such a welcoming atmosphere
